Rehabilitated manatees returned to their habitat in Fort Myers
On Tuesday, Jan. 31, FWC researchers, law enforcement staff and Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo staff released two rehabilitated female manatees in Fort Myers. Both manatees were rescued last summer due to watercraft-related injuries.

Gov. Scott's budget includes $67.1 million for SR 82 widening
The section between Lee and Shawnee roads will start next year instead of 2018. The section between Alabama and Homestead roads will move up from 2022 to 2018 and the Homestead Road to the Hendry County line will move from 2023 to 2018.
